Twitter has 145 million monetizable daily active users

That number is up 17% since Q3 2018, according to Twitter’s Q3 2019 report.

Note that these are specifically monetizable daily active users. That is, users who see ads. (In comparison, Facebook and Snap report all their DAUs, even those who don’t necessarily see ads.)

If this number seems low to you it might be because Twitter used to measure its user population by monthly active users. For instance, in Q1 2019 the company stated it had 330 million monthly active users.

Twitter users are more likely to like brands that are inclusive and transparent

According to a recent study by Twitter and IPG, 50% of people think brands can become more culturally relevant by being inclusive, and that number rises to 60% among Twitter users.

The study also found that 47% of Twitter users prefer culturally relevant brands, compared to 39% of the general U.S. population

At the end of the day, Twitter’s user base is growing, and the company is making an effort to be transparent with advertisers about those numbers.

Twitter ad engagement is up 23%

According to Twitter’s Q3 2019 report, users are increasingly engaging with ads on Twitter. Simultaneously, Twitter says that the CPE (cost per engagement) is down 12%.

Twitter points to improved click-through rates and audience growth for these numbers.

If you’re Twitter marketing strategy could benefit from what looks like cheaper and more engaging ads.

Tweets with hashtags gets 100% more engagement

But, pro tip from Twitter: use only one or two because if you use more, engagement declines again.

93% of video views on Twitter happen on mobile

This is according to Twitter’s internal data. Remember to post mobile-optimized video that has subtitles or captions for sound-off viewing.

40% of monthly active users use LinkedIn daily.

Of those using the platform monthly, up to 40% are accessing it on a daily basis. If that is the case, that’s over 100 million professionals you could be targeting every single day. To make that even more excited, LinkedIn users typically use the platform to find relevant content, meaning they’ll be much more willing to check out what you’re sharing. We’ll dig into that one soon though…

61 million LinkedIn users are senior level influencers and 40 million are in decision-making positions.

This comes straight from LinkedIn’s Marketing Solutions Blog. From a B2B perspective, the decision-makers you’re trying to reach are using LinkedIn. If you double down on your LinkedIn efforts, you’ll be able to target the right people in the place they like to spend their scrolling time.

There are 63 million unique mobile users monthly.

Mobile is booming and LinkedIn’s mobile user numbers reflect that. Their mobile user count is climbing every month, which only makes it easier to reach the people you’re trying to reach. Mobile makes it easier for a user to just open the app and scroll through, giving you more opportunities to reach them.

30 million companies are on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn is home to 30 million companies today. However, not every business is on the platform. Though, LinkedIn automatically generates a company page when a person adds work experience within a company or when an organization posts a job.

92% of B2B marketers include LinkedIn in their digital marketing mix.

If you’re looking to follow what expert B2B marketers are doing, start with LinkedIn. In terms of what channels are included in their content marketing mix, 92% of B2B marketers listed LinkedIn. There are now 2 billion unique YouTube users every month–a 5% increase from the previously-reported numbers in 2018. This makes it one of the biggest social media platforms. Now it’s all the more important to include it in your marketing strategy regardless of your industry or niche.

There’s a reason you’re seeing more and more YouTube influencer marketing campaigns. People love content creators on the platform and continue to engage with their content. In fact, 70% more users followed and engaged with influencer content between 2017 and 2018.

When it comes to paid social, YouTube is the third most popular platform among marketers with 48% of them investing in it.

Video is one of the top five most used content types among B2B marketers, with 71% of them using it. That means YouTube should be a part of your B2B marketing mix if you’re going to keep up with the competition.

In fact, 64% of B2B marketers increased their use of audio/visual content like webinars and live-streaming between 2018 and 2019. Record your webinar sessions and republish them on YouTube to attract an even bigger audience.
